Why does The Balrog keep coming back? That’s a good question. It would be easy to say that it’s my incessant need to be validated and constantly praised. It would be another to say that I have an unquenchable thirst for evil that is never satisfied. It would be perhaps even more accurate to say I’m just hungry and I like the taste of fear. Yet perhaps the truest reason of them all is that despite what may be commonly known, even Balrogs enjoy being around fun people at times. The chase is impossible if there’s no one to chase.

I love the club and, above all, its wonderful community. There’s no bad blood between users and we all get along like one big, happy family. I love having a piece of Middle-earth to look forward to every day. Earning mathoms is my favorite part, and the daily games are so fun that I even have an alarm set for when they reset. It’s a breath of fresh air to have a place where we can simply geek out over Tolkien and have fun together! I love the sense of fellowship, especially the team quests and cheering each other on. I've only been a fan of LOTR for 10 months. This is my first ever experience stepping in a LOTR community and I have been enjoying my time here. My boyfriend encouraged me to join and I'm glad I followed. I've been welcomed with open arms, expanded my knowledge through daily Visions in the Stone questions, entered several fellowships... I've never entered such a community that was willing to listen to what you have to say, even if you're wishing someone a good day. I truly feel like I have a place in the fan club. Thank you.

I love meeting others who love Middle Earth as much as I do. I like challenging myself with the trivia and other games. I like that kindness and loyal companions isn't a think of the past.
