Laurie Battle has been immersed in the world of J.R.R.Tolkien since 1979, when she began work at Tolkien Enterprises, a division of the Saul Zaentz Company. She became Tolkien Enterprises' Director of Licensing for merchandise and stage productions based on The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit in 1984. Laurie has a bachelor's degree in music from the University of California. She has a deep and abiding faith in the transformative power of storytelling.
